FALLS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (TND) — A school music instructor is in big trouble after authorities said he was found with thousands of images and videos of child pornography.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office near Philadelphia said Christopher Bygott surrendered, Tuesday morning.
“A forensic examination of his cellphone led to the discovery of 2,000 images and videos,” they said, “that depicted sexual acts with children of various ages.”Detectives started investigating two weeks ago after two CyberTips were submitted to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
They said the tips were “linked to an IP address, which was used to upload the child sex abuse material files into an Amazon Photos account.”Then, Amazon sent them subscriber information, “which identified the subscriber as Bygott.
“Further investigation linked the IP address to the Pennsbury School District.”Bygott worked at Pennsbury High School East as curriculum coordinator for instrumental music. Last Wednesday, detectives interviewed Bygott there. His name no longer appears on district websites.
Bygott, 47, is charged with possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility. Both are felonies.
He was released in lieu of $250,000 unsecured bail and ordered to have no contact with minors, stay off the internet, and surrender his passport.
