A 2-year-old and his father were among those killed in a car explosion this weekend in Allentown, according to CNN affiliate KYW.

Authorities said the explosion happened Saturday at around 9:30 p.m. on West Turner Street.

During a Monday news conference, Lehigh County officials identified the victims as 2-year-old Johnathan Schmoyer, 26-year-old Jacob Schmoyer and 66-year-old David Hallman, all of Allentown. Investigators said Hallman and Schmoyer were friends.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is leading the investigation along with the FBI, state police, city and county authorities.

"We know there's been a criminal incident," District Attorney James Martin told reporters at Sunday's news conference. "We have a high degree of confidence that the perpetrator was probably killed in the incident."

Officials said there is no immediate danger to the pubic as this was an isolated incident.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 888-ATF-BOMB.
